Emily, our lovely work experience student has been busy creating this sugary sweet party decoration which would look great over a wedding candy/sweetie buffet. To accompany this, she’s also designing some colourful sweet jar tags for our Free Printables Library later this week… Lucky us!
Here’s the step by step:
- You’ll need a floristry wreath – we recycled this one from our Cocktail Umbrella Wreath DIY project, hence it looks a bit worse for wear!
- Using a glue gun (readily available at craft shops for around £5.99), stick sweets all over it, leaving as few spaces as possible. We used Liquorice Allsorts, some of which we had to snip down so they didn’t stick out too much. This size wreath took around 4 packets of the sweets.
- Leave it somewhere warm and dry until the glue is set.
- We hung ours from a strip of polka dot fabric, but equally you could use ribbon.
We would recommend making this around a week before the big event. For its big moment, it might be an idea to hang it somewhere it won’t be easily accessible for guests to try and get at the sweets – particularly after a few glasses of Champagne!
